Data Deletion Request

At Strift, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of some or all of your data while keeping your account active.
How to Request Data Deletion
In-App Request (Recommended):
- Open the Strift app on your device
- Go to Account
- Tap Help & Support
- Select Contact Support
- Set the title to "DELETE DATA"
- Specify which data you want deleted in your message
- Submit your request

What to Include in Your Request
When submitting your data deletion request, please provide:
- Your registered email address associated with your Strift account
- Specific data you want deleted:
- Steps history
- Weight logs and BMI records
- Personal challenges and achievements
- All fitness data
- Or specify other data types
- Whether you want to keep your account active (confirm this in your email)
Types of Data That Can Be Deleted
You can request deletion of the following data types while keeping your account:
- Health & Fitness Data: Steps history, weight logs, BMI records, and calorie tracking data
- Challenge Data: Personal challenges, progress records, achievements, and streaks
- Historical Data: Past activity logs and historical statistics
- App Preferences: Customizations and settings (can be reset to defaults)
📝 Note: Basic account information (email, username) will be retained if you choose to keep your account active. If you want to delete everything including your account, please visit our Account Deletion page instead.
Data Retention Period
We may retain certain data for specific periods as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- No retention period: Most fitness data (steps, weight, challenges) is deleted immediately upon request
- 30-day retention: Backup systems may retain data for up to 30 days before permanent deletion
- Legal compliance: Some data may be retained longer if required by applicable laws or regulations
Processing Timeline
Once we receive your data deletion request:
- Within 7 business days: We will acknowledge receipt of your request
- Within 30 days: Your requested data will be permanently deleted from our active servers
- Within 90 days: All backup copies will be removed from our backup systems
⚠️ Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, your fitness history and progress cannot be recovered. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before submitting a deletion request.
After Data Deletion
After your data is deleted:
- Your account will remain active and you can continue using Strift
- Your deleted data cannot be restored or recovered
- You can start fresh with new fitness tracking
- Your login credentials and account settings will remain intact
